What is CBD oil?
CBD Oil is a non-psychoactive oil extract taken from the cannabis or hemp plant. CBD stands for cannabinoids, one of the many compounds found in the plant. There are estimated to be over one hundred cannabinoids in the plant with 113 identified cannabidiols, CBD being just one of them. CBD oil is classed as a food or health supplement to improve general health and wellbeing.
Is CBD Legal?
Yes, it is. For CBD oil to be legal in the UK it must contain extremely low (below 0.005%) levels of THC (D9-Tetrahydrocannabinol) which is a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
Cannabis oil with a high THC content is not allowed in the UK. Our CBD oils are completely legal having passed rigorous quality checks for controlled substances by independent verified UKAS labs.
Does CBD get you high?
No CBD does not get you high.
How long does CBD take to work?
This will typically vary from person to person as we all react differently to CBD. For some, one dose will suffice each day however others may require 2-3 doses throughout the day.
How long does CBD stay in your system for?
On average CBD will stay in your system for 2-5 days however this varies from person to person. It will also depend on how you take your CBD as well as strength which will determine how long CBD stays in your system for.
How much CBD can I take per day?
This will vary from person to person, and most people will seek a different strength and dosage. We recommend not exceeding over 70mg of CBD per day and always checking with a medical professional before taking CBD as per the FSA guidelines.
Does Hemp oil contain CBD?
Hemp oil and CBD are both derived from the hemp plant so yes hemp oil does contain CBD. At Loveburgh our unique blend of Cannabis Sativa L. oil utilises the whole plant from flowers, leaf stock and seeds to produce the purest and finest quality oil full spectrum and broad-spectrum oils.
Can you get prescription CBD?
You do not need a prescription to take CBD oil. It is a health food supplement that is available to purchase over the counter in specialist stores or online. Please consult with a medical professional before taking CBD, especially if you are using other medications.
What are CBD side effects?
Though CBD is generally well tolerated and safe it may cause adverse reactions in some people such as a biphasic effect. This is when a dose can be amplified to a higher dose and exasperate symptoms. That is why we recommend first time CBD users to start at our entry level oil at night-time before bed and gradually building up strength if necessary. Please consult with your GP or medical professional with other types of medications you are taking in conjunction with CBD for any other possible side effects.
What dosage do I take and how long before I feel the effects?
This will typically vary from person to person as we all react differently to CBD. For some, one dose will suffice each day however others may require 2-3 doses throughout the day and require different strengths. With Loveburgh oils our customers typically feel the effects within a few hours of symptoms improving. Start slow.
What is the difference between full spectrum CBD and broad-spectrum CBD?
At Loveburgh our full spectrum CBD is unrefined, cold pressed and infused with hemp seed oil to produce a full spectrum raw hemp oil. Full spectrum oils utilise the full plant and contains the most cannabinoid components with extremely low traces of THC.
Our broad-spectrum oil is refined to remove the THC and is infused with an MCT blend, (coconut oil) not hemp seed making this a broad-spectrum oil. THC is removed with a certified process and only traces less than 0.0005%.
Is CBD made from industrial hemp or marijuana?
At Loveburgh we use a unique blend of Cannabis Sativa L. which is regarded as industrial hemp. Hemp derived CBD is sourced from industrial hemp plants, which are grown primarily for their fibre and seeds.
What is the difference between hemp oil and hemp seed oil?
Hemp oil is derived from the full hemp plant utilising the flower, leaf stock and seeds and hemp seed oil is made by cold pressing the seeds only. Hemp seed oil does not contain any cannabinols.
Can CBD be absorbed through the skin?
Yes, CBD can be absorbed through the skin and when paired with certain ingredients this can amplify by opening the pores for increased absorption. Using topical CBD products will reach the cannabinoid receptors quicker through the pores providing faster absorption.
Is CBD legal in cosmetics?
Absolutely! CBD is completely legal in cosmetics and contains zero levels of THC. It has been well recognised for its powerful antioxidant, anti-ageing, and anti-seborrheic properties as well as conditioning and protecting the skin. What does CBD do for your skin?
Naturally derived cannabidiol from the hemp plant helps to soothe, calm, and hydrate the skin by working in conjunction with your body’s own endocannabinoid system. This activates your skins CB1 and CB2 receptors to modulate the reaction of the skins anti-inflammatory response as well as improve the skins natural barrier functions.
